Soul Parenting

I have come to a new place in my work, one that involves healing in a more focused way. It seems that the very things that we must heal are those that we are here to offer others. That, for me at this point in time, is parenting.

I became a parent over 4 years ago at a later age in life. I am a sole parent, adopting my daughter without a partner. The past couple of months I’ve had conversations with single parents about the term “single”. In the adoption community there are many single parents who choose to adopt. They don’t identify with single parents in the traditional sense because they have no partner, no ex spouse to share responsibilities or resources with. Therefore they consider themselves sole parents. I know there are many single parents in the same situation, with no partner emotionally or otherwise for support.

When I considered the word “sole” parenting, it felt too limiting and alone. I immediately changed it to “soul” parent. For this has been my world for many years, to be closer to my soul and expand my connection to the Divine. This feels right!

As I began my life as a Soul Parent, I also realized that I had few role models for Soul Parenting. I have some scars from my childhood that are my diamonds in the rough, as do most people. My parents did the best they could. And the consciousness of today has evolved to a higher level than anyone would have dreamed of when I was growing up. So how do I take the leap from there to here with parenting? And why do it?

The children of the world need our support and nurturing as they move into the crystalline pathway of ascended living. If we can model unity consciousness and come into a deep soul connection with ourselves and our children, I believe our kids will soar through their spiritual evolution. And it’s not too shabby for us parents, either. Just think of what it would be like to parent our children with a very deep soul connection with them. I receive intuitive messages and have soul conversations with my daughter now. She is leading me forward on the pathway of conscious evolution, the Age of Aquarius where words are no longer necessary.

I will be presenting Soul Parenting Sessions at the Intuitive Arts Festival this weekend in Victoria. Soul Parenting Sessions involve clearing blocks to fully experiencing our soul’s expansive and loving presence. As we release our resistance to love and fears that block our connection, we can open our hearts and create soul connections with our children.

Please stop by the Red Gate Healing Studio booth this weekend and receive a beautiful Soul Parent session! We are all so beautifully connected!

Energy Expo in Victoria May 14-15, 2011

I’m excited to announce I have a booth and a workshop at the Energy Expo in Victoria May 14-15, 2011! Please come out and support me and the amazing energy workers gathered there. It’s at the Fernwood Community Center from 11 AM – 6 PM both days. You can find more information by clicking on this link to the Energy Expo.

My colleagues and I will be offering Avesa Balancings at our booth for $20. Avesa Balancings are called “the 10 minute miracle”. Clients receive this balancing on a massage table set up between two small glass pyramids. We use pyramids and Egyptian Healing Rods to co-create a beautiful quantum energy field where the possibility exists to balance and release patterns that are in the way of our fullest Divine connection and expression.

My workshop is on Saturday May 14 at 12:30 PM. Everyone is welcome! I will lead an Egyptian Healing Rod healing circle with a focus on peace (following the Energy Expo theme). Egyptian Healing Rods restore harmonization of the body, mind and spirit, and facilitate our connection to Source. They provide full chakra balancing, sometimes within minutes, and they amplify our thoughts to bring forward our co-creative abilities. And they do much, much more! This is a very short description. To learn more, please click on the Egyptian Healing Rod link. And see the menu item in my site under Divine Services.

Song of These Ages

Another song has hit my radar, this one by my old favorite, Van Morrison. Dweller on the Threshold.

I’m a dweller on the threshold
And I’m waiting at the door
And I’m standing in the darkness
I don’t want to wait no more
I have seen without perceiving
I have been another man
Let me pierce the realm of glamour
So I know just what I am
I’m a dweller on the threshold
And I’m waiting at the door
And I’m standing in the darkness
I don’t want to wait no more
Feel the angel of the present
In the mighty crystal fire
Lift me up consume my darkness
Let me travel even higher
I’m a dweller on the threshold
As I cross the burning ground
Let me go down to the water
Watch the great illusion drown
I’m a dweller on the threshold
And I’m waiting at the door
And I’m standing in the darkness
I don’t want to wait no more
I’m gonna turn and face the music
The music of the spheres
Lift me up consume my darkness
When the midnight disappears
I will walk out of the darkness
And I’ll walk into the light
And I’ll sing the song of ages
And the dawn will end the night
I’m a dweller on the threshold
And I’m waiting at the door
And I’m standing in the darkness
I don’t want to wait no more
I’m a dweller on the threshold
And I cross some burning ground
And I’ll go down to the water
Let the great illusion drown
I’m a dweller on the threshold
And I’m waiting at the door
And I’m standing in the darkness
I don’t want to wait no more
I’m a dweller on the threshold
Dweller on the threshold
I’m a dweller on the threshold
I’m a dweller on the threshold

Quote of the Week

“The modalities of awakened doing are acceptance, enjoyment, and enthusiasm.  Each one represents a certain vibrational frequency of consciousness.  You need to be vigilant to make sure that one of them operates whenever you are engaged in doing anything at all – from the most simple task to the most complex.”

Eckhart Tolle

Crazy!

I was driving home this morning after dropping my daughter at pre-school and I heard the song Crazy by Gnarls Barkley. The words struck a chord with me so I’m posting the first part here. Go listen to this song! It’s somehow appropriate for the times we’re going through, and some comic relief!

Crazy lyrics
Songwriters: Burton, Brian Joseph; Callaway, Thomas Decarlo; Reverberi, Gian Piero; Reverberi, Gianfranco;

I remember when, I remember
I remember when I lost my mind
There was something so pleasant about that place
Even your emotions have an echo in so much space

And when you’re out there without care
Yeah, I was out of touch
But it wasn’t because I didn’t know enough
I just knew too much

Does that make me crazy?
Does that make me crazy?
Does that make me crazy?
Possibly

And I hope that you are
Having the time of your life
But think twice
That’s my only advice

Come on now, who do you
Who do you, who do you, who do you think you are?
Ha ha ha, bless your soul
You really think you’re in control?

Well, I think you’re crazy
I think you’re crazy
I think you’re crazy
Just like me …..
